[/center]FAQ !Abscedio's gameplay and plot FAQ.
So, I joined. What now?
Well, for the moment, the rping is all freeform. Establish relationships among characters, flesh out your character and give them depth beyond an application form. This will help the plot along later. Seriously. While this might seem 'boring' right now, it's essential to the plot to have a proper starting point.
What exactly is this 'Gene' thingy?
The Gene, as briefly flicked over in the plot description, is a mutation that runs in the blood of some wolves. This is not a 'Gene' in it's purest sense, as it is not carried as such from Parents to Offspring. The Gene grants the wolf one physical or mental mutation/power above the norm of the natural form wolf. For example, a wolf with The Gene might be granted powers of Telepathy, or perhaps a set of wings. It is dependant on both the personality of the wolf, and a touch of luck and randominity (I think I just made up that word OH WELL).
Once the Gene has been activated, and the wolf has his or her power, there is no apparent reversal. Unless you count death.
What's 'Allocation'?
Allocation, simply, is allocation of The Gene through a randomised selection process. Once there's enough characters to really kick off the plot, there will be the first site wide event- Allocation, Wave One. In this event, the staff will draw up a number of spots, let's say- for example- five slots for 'The Gene' in the first wave.
The staff will go through the current accepted application forms, and pick out those who have marked 'Are you interested in your wolf receiving 'The Gene'?' with a yes on their application form. Those names will be put into a hat. Five names will be drawn. Once those five names have been drawn out of the hat, a die is rolled for each wolf.
For the numbers 1 or 2, the character receives power or physical mutation #1 on their application form.
For the numbers 3 or 4, the character receives power or physical mutation #2 on their application form.
For the numbers 5 or 6, the character receives power or physical mutation #3 on their application form.
Each account, before the mutation is confirmed, will be checked over to make sure the player is active and committed to their character. They will be PMed to be told the news, and they can either accept or reject the mutation. In the case of a rejection, a new name will be drawn from the hat, die rolled for. All the mutations will be confirmed, and the Allocation will have ended for this particular wave. :D
Allocations will take place at the staff's discretion, but if you want your character to get the gene ASAP, you can apply for it at the Store.
OMFG DOES THAT MEAN I'VE GOT A POWERFUL GOD WOLF SICK AS, BRO!!111!
Umn, no. Just as a skill takes time to develop and control, so does the characters mutation. A wolf may have just received a shiny pair of wings, but- just like baby birds- it doesn't mean they can use them, or even control them. Powers and physical mutations will take a period of time to adjust and a huge amount of time to properly master. The mutation period and receiving of The Gene also comes with the pleasent side effects of:
Yay! :D Enjoy that one, kiddies.
